The Five Cultivars Olive Oil Experience

The experience begins with an introduction to the art and science of olive oil tasting, offering insight into quality assessment, aromas, flavours and the fundamentals of sensory evaluation. Guests are then guided through a curated tasting of our extra virgin olive oils, learning to identify the distinctive attributes of each cultivar.

The tasting concludes with a selection of local delicacies thoughtfully paired with the oils, demonstrating how olive oil can elevate and transform the gastronomic experience.

Guests may choose between a tasting of 5 or 8 premium extra virgin olive oils. The extended tasting offers a deeper exploration of varietal expression and terroir, including a unique opportunity to discover how the regional Amfissis olive reveals different sensory characteristics when grown in distinct microclimates.

Whether you are an olive oil enthusiast, a food lover, or simply curious about one of the Mediterranean's most treasured products, this experience offers an authentic introduction to the world of exceptional Greek olive oil.

Ancient Olive Trees & Olive Oil Tasting Experience

This experience takes place in the Upper Dougani grove of Patistis Olive Groves, beneath the shade of centuries-old olive trees, and is co-hosted with Terpis Experiences.

Over the course of two and a half hours, you will wander through our historic olive grove and discover the story of one of Greece’s most treasured symbols: the olive tree. Along the way, you will learn about traditional and modern cultivation practices, the seasonal rhythm of the grove, and the unique characteristics that shape the quality and personality of extra virgin olive oil.

Surrounded by breathtaking views of the South Pelion landscape, you will gain a deeper understanding of the connection between terroir, olive varieties, and craftsmanship.

The experience concludes with a guided tasting of selected extra virgin olive oils, where you will learn to identify aromas, flavors, and sensory attributes like a professional taster. The oils will then be paired with a carefully curated selection of Greek delicacies—some traditional, others surprisingly unconventional—to showcase the versatility of olive oil in gastronomy.

By the end of the experience, you will know how to recognize a high-quality extra virgin olive oil and understand what makes each olive variety unique. Most importantly, you will leave with a new appreciation for olive oil—and a Greek salad will never taste quite the same again.
