Some extra informations

Cultivars
The only domisticated cultivar you can meet is the regional Amfissis, with trees over a century old, and then plenty wild olive trees which either grew by themselves or replaced the domisticated ones after some wildfires

Recent history
In this plot someone can find a functional but uninhabited monastery. The whole plot was used by the monks but now belongs to the municipality of South Pelion. The monastery is open and celebrates on 1st of May every year with the people of Laukos taking care of everything. Trees neglected and abandoned have started coming back to life under Patistis Olive Groves managment.

Future plans
The first part of our plan is to gradually bring back to shape all the olive trees and make the whole plot accesible since it has gone through a lot due to neglection, abandonment and severe weather phenomena. The second part is to make it an open to visitors olive grove, which will be able to host experiences, retreats and classes.

Olive oil characteristics
The extra virgin olive oil that we get with early harvest from this specific plot has its own character. It has a medium fruity flavor with a light delicate bitterness and spiciness. Other than the characteristic variety's aromas of green tomato leaves and green almond it has aromas of green and red apples as well as forest fruits and peppers.
